Wrinkle Injections
Wrinkle reducing treatments are injections such as muscle relaxing injections
to cause the muscles to relax and help reduce the effect of wrinkles.
What is it?
- A minute quantity of muscle relaxant is
injected to the muscles that cause dynamic lines.
- The injection temporarily prevents nerve signals from reaching the muscle
and as a result the muscle relaxes and the skin smoothes out.
- These treatments have delivered safe, effective long term results with minimal
swelling or redness and have a proven track record for effectiveness.
What can't it do?
- Wrinkle fillers can not lift loose or sagging skin or correct raised or reddened
scars.
- See MACS lift, scar revision and laser resurfacing for addressing these (all
of which are offered by Adrian Richards).
What is involved?
- Treatment can take as little as 10 minutes and most people return to normal
activities immediately afterwards the smoothing effects of the first treatment
typically lasts for up to 4 months.
Possible side effects
- Side effects, if they occur are usually temporary and mild to moderate, and
are typically linked to the injections e.g. pain on injection, redness, swelling
etc
- In very rare cases, the spread of botulinum toxin into nearby muscles is
possible when high doses are injected, hence the need to see a specialist in
this field. Adrian Richards have such specialists.
